All interior designers must have a license so that they can conduct their business in the field of interior design. Without a license, they won’t be able to do their job and won’t get projects either. So, as an interior designer, you must get your license by any means; you can get your license with the steps:
Get Education
The first thing that you need to do is to get the proper education so that you can become an interior designer, and to do so; you need to get the necessary courses and make yourself skilled in this field. Then you can sit on the license exam. However, the NCIDQ exam requires the candidate to get courses in Interior Designing or a similar discipline. Moreover, before taking the license exam, you have to make sure that you have 60 semester credit hours or 90 quarter credit hours in the course. You also have to take courses like:

Architectural Drafting
This course covers the software part. I mean, this course will teach you can use computer-aided design software or CAD software.
Colour Theory and Application
A course that will help you to understand how colours play with psychologically. With the help of this course, you will be able to use the right colours and apply them to interior design.
Building Cost and Standards
With the help of this course, you will be able to determine the cost and other estimations for any interior design project.
Experience
To get an interior designing license, you must have to earn some experience along with the skills. Without proper experience, you won’t be able to do any design work or get a license or work. However, you have to get the experience for a certain number of hours. That experience hours will be approved by the supervisor, sponsor, or instructor. You have to work under those persons in a project for a certain number of hours, and they will see your skills and working capability, then they will approve you.
